The Red Devils have committed themselves to a series of glamorous pre-season fixtures in the United States and the Manchester United hierarchy are confident they can also fill their coffers like never before.

Jose Mourinho’s side are due to kick-start their American tour with two games against MLS opposition.

They face LA Galaxy at the StubHub Center in California on July 15 before taking on Real Salt Lake City in Utah two days later.

It’s believed United will receive an upfront fee of £5m for their participation in the tournament, which will also see them take on local rivals Manchester City on July 20, with a venue yet to be confirmed.

United meet Real Madrid on July 23 at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, before ending their stay against Barcelona in Washington DC at the Fed Ex Field three days later.

The club expect to play all those games in front of huge sell-out crowds, which is where they can earn the additional huge sums through their own commercial partners.
